But I want blue and yellow and can't bring myself to pay the prices people are asking for them. I really want a 26" GT Performer (the new retro ones). But now the 8 y/o rolls the PK and the 13 Y/o rides the Floval. My 8 Y/o had a 2010ish Mini Ripper he got handed down from my 13 year old who was riding the 20" PK Ripper. Still have a 24" Profile, 24" Floval, 20" PK Ripper and 24" Quadangle to play around on. But like I said, having all that chrome sitting around collecting dust (and more so rust) in the garage was not cool. I paid like $350 FF for my 24" Hutch and $400 for one of the FF 24" Pattersons I had. Ebay was still pretty new and there really wasn't THAT many people into collecting 80's bikes so things were still cheap. At one point I had so many bikes and bike frames I didn't know what to do with it. I was heavy into collecting and restoring from early 90's to early 2000's. I'd even strip it down to just the frame because the parts wont ever be worth much. If you have the space to tuck it away do that. All of the bikes I sold off ten years or so ago (Hutch's Patterson's, Santa Ana GT's, CW's, Race Inc.'s, SE Racing models, Redlines, Kuwahara, ETC from the 80's and 90's) have all gone up in value (a lot) from what I sold them for ten years ago. EVERY BMX bike I've had over the years has increased in value. Now, not enough to retire on but for me, it pains me to think I'd be throwing away something that will most likely be worth something down the road. I'd hate to say, "yeah, pitch it" and then in 10 years when you're looking through Craigs list the bike is selling for 1500-2k. If you have a shed or attic in your garage or something, just throw it up there and wait another 10 years. Here's the thing about older BMX frames I've learned through-out the past 25 plus years of paying attention to the market.
